Like any service provider here at redIT, from time to time need to carry out some work on one or more of our systems or platforms.
99.9% of the time no one will even notice that we have done anything as the changes are not service affecting.
For example we could add a new bit of backend code to our management system, or out of normal office hours we could make a change to our phone system.
However, there are times when we need to carry out updates to our software or platforms that our customers use.
We have always tried to let everyone know what we are doing.
When we sat down and looked at what we have done over the last 6 months we noticed that these update notifications have dried up a little.
Well we are now going to be putting a new process into place that will ensure that we keep every customer updated on what we are doing with our services.
So whats changing?
We will always plan to give a minimum of 7 days notice to all customers using any service that is effected by routine maintenance, and where possible this will be carried out during the UK ‘quite’ hours between 10pm and 2am the following day.
For emergency maintenance or corrective works we will if possible send an eMail to all effected users.
We will post an update every hour or on the completion of the maintenance on both of our Social Media pages.
We will also start re-using our Announcements page again at https://redit.co.uk/portal/index.php/announcements
